Teb at T3 recommended as changeable weather solution

With weatherpatterns switching unpredictably, a T3 tebuconazole delivering robust fusarium protection, while guarding against a brown rust threat, could be the most cost effectivesolution at this key fungicide timing.

Independent agronomist Roger Bryan of CropManagement Partners, based in Kent, explains that recent wet weather has caused Septoria pressure to build andcooler conditions have allowed yellow rust to establish, with symptoms mostevident in susceptible varieties such as Gallant and Solstice wheat. If wetduring flowering, the fusarium and microdochium risk will be high again like lastyear.

He believes tebuconazole has a key role toplay against Fusarium complexes, as well as delivering a strong level ofcontrol in the face of rust pressure. If the weather becomes hot and dry, brown rust can quickly get going particularly in the south east corner. Havinga treatment of tebuconazole on susceptible varieties will help protect againstthe brown rust threat, says Roger.

He notes thattebuconazole in tank mix with propiconazole for microdochium and fusariumcontrol adds a valuable rust control component while boosting activity onFusarium. They are perfect T3 partners, and provide an excellent and costeffective ear disease control solution provided they are applied pre-flowering.Choosing tebuconazoles at T3 is a smart choice as it takes advantage of older, yet highly cost-effective chemistry.

Rotams Commercialand Marketing Manager, Chris Pye, agrees that tebuconazole has always been apopular choice at T3. He notes that Rotams tebuconazole has a very goodreputation amongst UK agronomists due to its compatibility with other productsand its behaviour in the spray tank. The Rotam formulations, marketed as Odin,Savannah and Starpro, have been developed by our own chemists and formulationspecialists to ensure that no crystallization will occur.

In a season where expenditure needs to be carefully setagainst the crops yield potential, Rotams value for money products along witha commitment to R&D, provides farmers with value and peace of mind.
