Straw forage harvester attracts YFC members

Downham Market Young Farmers, a club based in West Norfolk, challenged the realms of straw bale architecture recently by constructing a forage harvester on the town’s busy roundabout in late August. The clubs aim was to catch the eyes of potential members.

Each year the Young Farmers group takes it upon itself to build a farming-related straw structure; typically a tractor, however this year, seeing’s that it’s the clubs 70th anniversary, it felt it had to go bigger, and so the forage harvester was born!

Its hoped that this unusual form of advertising continues to draw in a crowd of enthusiastic new members for the club.
