RL Winter Oilseed Rape Harvest trials (North) – 17-8-2015

Recommended List oilseed rape trials results for Fife and the Borders show strong performance against the four-year average.

The 2015 gross output values of thecontrol varieties from the two trials are 6.28 t/ha for Fife and 5.47 t/ha forthe Borders site. Anastasia (109%) and newly recommended variety Campus (108%)have performed well at both the sites this year. Varieties with the highestgross outputs are currently SY Harnas (111%)  Anastasia (110%) Campus (110%) V316OL (110%) and Incentive (108%), based on the four-yearaverage, which includes the 2015 figures.

New clubroot resistant variety Mentorhas achieved a yield of 105% in the North for 2015 and 103% in the four-yearaverage. Amalie, a specialist variety with Turnip Yellows Virus (TuYV)resistance, currently has a gross output of 99% in 2015 and 97% in thefour-year average.

More trials are expected to beharvested this week.
