The direct route to the right part

TecAlliance, the company behind TecDoc, the electronic replacement parts catalogue, does not just do the business for the automotive and commercial vehicle sectors, it also delivers for the agricultural community, says the company.

Finding the correct replacement part is an issue in whatever market, but for those tasked with undertaking the service and repair of the agricultural vehicles throughout the UK and Ireland, that process is all the more important, as time is always of the essence.

Through the TecDoc web portal, users can simply input the vehicle make and model – a New Holland T5 2017 for example – and find the correct part from a full menu of category headings. So, if the requirement is for anything from a replacement wiper blade or oil filter to an exhaust emission sensor, they merely need to click on the appropriate product group icon and drill down to the relevant part, to reveal both the original equipment (OE) item and a list of aftermarket suppliers.

“As a result of managing the data for more than 600 global replacement parts brands, TecDoc is able to accurately match individual components with the OE part to ensure users can quickly and efficiently source the parts they need, with the assurance that they are not universal, but vehicle specific applications,” explains Shaun Greasley, commercial director for TecAlliance UK & Ireland.

“With the combination of our data management expertise and the understandable desire of our official data suppliers to maximise the application of their data, it is natural that we offer a parts identification solution for complementary sectors, which makes the agricultural market an obvious addition to the TecDoc offering.

“In practical terms, this means that there are close to 300,000 linkages to individual tractor parts with the system, which provide both parts distributors and agricultural workshops with huge choice when it comes to selecting the replacement items they need.

“Access to TecDoc is granted through a user licence, which is just £144 a year. This is not only outstanding value in itself, but bearing in mind it also gives them access to passenger car and commercial vehicle parts as well, it makes it an extraordinarily cost-effective way to ensure they can source the correct parts when they need them.”
