Precision Farming Event offers the chance to win an N-Sensor for a year
VISITORS
to the forthcoming Precision Farming Event have the chance to win a year’s free
use of a Yara N-Sensor simply by registering and purchasing a pre-paid ticket
for the show.
This
year’s event will be held on Wednesday, March 10th at the East of
England Showground, Peterborough.
Alongside the exhibition featuring the latest electronic advances from the UK’s leading
suppliers, visitors will also be able to see equipment at work in the outside
demonstration area.
There is
also a full seminar programme, which will provide unrivalled information on a
range of subjects including controlled traffic farming (CTF), yield and
moisture monitoring on forage harvesters, results from trials to assess the
true costs and benefits of using auto-steer as well as Isobus in operation and
how the Yara N-Sensor targets inputs to match the requirements of the growing
crops. Visitors attending seminars will be eligible for NRoSO and Basis points.
Exceptionally high growing costs combined
with weak commodity prices have increased the need to improve efficiency and
concentrated minds on targeting inputs more precisely. The Precision Farming
Event is the only exhibition and seminar programme that provides the essential
information and equipment users need all in one place.
“Guidance,
automatic steering and variable-rate applications are now a normal part of
every operation on the nation’s leading farms,” event organiser Andy Newbold
said. “These farmers and contractors recognise the value this technology can
add to their businesses and they are investing in equipment that is proven to
save time, money and inputs. It is now an essential part of maintaining and
increasing profit.
“The
Precision Farming Event is a unique exhibition that brings together the leading
suppliers and service providers in the industry. The format is designed to help
visitors access expert information as well as getting the opportunity to speak
to all the leading suppliers at one venue.”
The
comprehensive seminar programme has been put together to provide all visitors
with a range of unrivalled information. The broad spread of topics will be of
interest to everyone from those who are new to the technology right through to
expert users.
“This
year’s seminars are very practically orientated,” Mr Newbold said. “In most
sessions alongside the experts farmers will also explain exactly how they are
using this technology to improve their business’ efficiency and profits.
“We are
proud that some of the UK’s
leading farmers and experts will be sharing their experiences and detailed
information about some really interesting and, indeed, unique precision farming
applications.”
Seminar
topics will look at farm-scale trials that assess the true costs and savings
from using auto-steering and guidance; explain how the winner will benefit from
using the Yara N-Sensor as well as how Isobus terminals work in practice.
Arable
farmer Nick August will be presenting his experiences with setting up a
complete CTF regime, while another session looks at how yield mapping on forage
harvesters can benefit livestock farmers, contractors and their customers.
