Essex Young Farmers Strictly Come Dancing winners Becky Davis and Ben Fitch
Essex Young Farmers dance the night away
Essex Young Farmers own Strictly Come Dancing event was held at the end of June at Towerlands, Braintree and attracted an estimated audience of 600. Organisers told Farmers Guide that the 12 competing couples performed brilliantly, but since there had to be a winning couple the judges decided on Becky Davis and Ben Fitch, both from Colchester Young Farmers’.
As well as providing an entertaining evening for club members the event raised money for the well deserving Teenage Cancer Trust that provides help for teenagers and young adults dealing with the disease. Money also went towards Mission Possible – Essex Young Farmers’ new headquarters fund raising programme.
Staffordshire rule three Counties
The Three Counties stock judging competition that was held on June 19th was a great success for Staffordshire YFC. The County entered a full team that represented them in horse judging, intermediate beef and junior dairy. Staffordshire took 1st, 2nd and 2nd respectively, which was impressive for Ellie Parkes of Lichfield Young Farmers’ who won the horse judging despite never having taken part in the competition before.
Staffordshire will be representing the area at the National finals at the Royal Berkshire Show later this year.
