| Farmers Guide Inventive Farmer Competition 2007 |
ONCE again the Farmers Guide Inventive Farmer Competition at the 2007 Suffolk Show brought a bumper crop of new pieces of equipment and modifications to the showground.
The three classes saw prizes for the best piece of new equipment, the best modification to existing machines and the best simple original gadget.

Taking second place in the modifications to existing machines class was Steve Saunderson, Heybridge, Maldon, with his gravel box for towing behind a mini drain trencher. |

Peter Jordan, of Buxhall, was third in the simple original device class with this furrow cracker extension. |

Robert Craigie won the new equipment class with this tractor-mounted unwinder to aid the application of mesh, fleece of polythene to field crops. |

Ken Hutchinson, of Wickhambrook, won the modifications to existing machines class for his simple, but effective, bout marker added to his slug-pellet spreading quad bike. By turning the handle bars to the same pint each time, he gets consistent bout widths and can follow the rows or tramlines to stay in line across the field. |

Made from old cultivator discs, Chris Templeman, of Witnesham, was highly commended for this novel workshop shelf into the simple original device class. |

Bryan Smy, of Hornham, Eye, took second place for his cooling system pressure tester radiator cap entered into the simple original device class. |
| David Hannah, Bartlow, Cambridge, took third prize in the new equipment class for a set of novel blocks that be fitted to forklift tines to aid the movement of light equipment around the farm. |
