Twoof the UKs leading salad players, Florette and Jepco Marketing, have announcedthe creation of a new grower operation in East Anglia, which will bolsterFlorettes national network of growers and further support UK horticulture.
Floretteand Jepco have entered into a long term supply agreement to facilitate amulti-million pound investment on the Anglia Salads site in Frating,Essex.
Thiswill involve the creation of a new business called Angflor Ltd that willthis year develop an initial 10 hectares of state of the art multispanpolytunnels for the cultivation of baby leaf, which currently haslimited UK supply. Over the next three years, this development is envisioned togrow to an eventual 40 hectares.
Themove will help Florette broaden supply channels and increase its ability tosource key ingredients from the UK, in turn facilitating product innovation inline with the brands strategic and sustainable vision.
