Davies Bros Danrheol in St Clears, run by Lyn and Huw Davie, has raised more than £7,000 for charity after deciding to invest in a pink silage trailer this year.

The family has been struck by cancer more than once and says: “The heartbreak and sadness that it brings makes us determined to help those who are affected by the horrible disease.”

Huw’s wife, Jane, was sadly told last year that her cancer had returned. The family says her strength and determination through treatment has amazed not only the family but also the people in their community.

“Everyone has been affected by cancer in many different ways, be it yourself, a member of family or friend,” the family says. “By raising money for this fantastic charity, it helps families receive better treatment, early diagnosis and they give families affected by cancer, hope. […]

“Thank you to everyone who have already donated, and thank you also to the people in our community who have shown kindness, support, friendship and help to our family in the last few months, it is all thanks to you, we are strong as a family.”
