The nationwide movement emerged from a collaboration of ideas among several UK farming groups.

The idea to organise the Day of Unity was born following a European Day of Solidarity with counterparts across the continent, who are facing severe pressures across all farming sectors, co-organiser Farmers For Action explained.

The campaigner was asked to support the day of European unity, which led to farming groups coming together for a joint day of action on the 24th November in the UK.

‘Bringing the farming community together’

The organisers confirmed that the action will begin at approximately 10am and should be complete by 4pm on Monday 24th November.

Day of Unity will see numerous go-slow protests on A-roads around the UK. Tractors are also set to be parked on overhead A-road bridges, with warning lights on. More information is yet to be released.

A spokesperson for Farmers To Action said: “We all hope that taking part in the Day of Unity will further bring the farming community together.

“We at FTA believe in safety in numbers, and being so we will be able to give a clear display to the Labour Government that we are mighty and we as farmers will not back down.”
