From ploughed to seedbed in one pass

Väderstad shares details of the RexiusTwin, which it says is the heaviest press on the market, available in working widths from 4.5–10.3 metres and offering impressive results in both the heaviest and lightest soils.

The RexiusTwin cuts, crushes, levels, and consolidates the soil in a single pass whilst maintaining soil structure. With a weight of up to 1,660kg per metre, the manufacturer says excellent consolidation at depth is possible on the heaviest soils.

The RexiusTwin packer rings are designed to create a weatherproof surface where the water is either evaporated or transported away from the upper soil layer. This concept allows the field to dry faster, making it possible for the seed drill to come out sooner.

At the front of the machine are the heavy-duty vibrating tines that cut through the plough furrows. With a tine spacing of 22cm, RexiusTwin provides high intensity. The vibrating action of the tines result in great performance, whilst reducing the draught requirement, Vaderstad claims.

After the tines, the CrossBoard grinds clods and levels the soil. A double-acting stabilising bar increases levelling capacity further.

The hydraulically-adjustable CrossBoard is equipped with master and slave cylinders, which ensures a level work result by maintaining the position of each CrossBoard section.

The rubber suspended packer rings are designed to provide an intensive consolidation, ensuring an effective water transport for the coming crop. Thanks to their sharp edges and high weight, the RexiusTwin packer rings cut and crush clods, while applying full depth consolidation.

The packer’s wide shoulders and narrow ring spacing, provide a good carrying capacity on both light and heavy soil.

In addition, the packer rings are mounted in an OffSet position, thereby minimising bulldozing and lowering the draught requirement. The OffSet position gives a self-cleaning effect and the wavy profile combined with the interlocking rings, keeps the rings moving in all conditions.
