Animal health and welfare technology eligible for FETF grant
19th May 2025
Galebreaker has announced that many of its livestock ventilation solutions are now eligible for funding under the latest Farming Equipment & Technology Fund (FETF).
The grant supports products that improve animal health and welfare — recognising ventilation as vital to healthy livestock production, the family-owned business based in rural Herefordshire explained.
A spokesperson for Galebreaker said: “Qualifying products include the trusted Rollerscreen, which offers flexible weather protection for over 40 years and the Agridoor range that provides quick access for bays from 3m to 6.5m wide.
“Farmers can also purchase the VentTube system, expertly designed to provide the exact amount of fresh air required for a healthy calf environment. Producers wanting to upgrade their pig housing can benefit from Side Curtains that provide an optimum environment through automated controls.”
Farmers are encouraged to contact the Galebreaker team for a no-fuss quotation. Call 01531 637900 or email marketsupport@galebreaker.com

‘Driving farming forward’
The £46.7m Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) will support farmers with three types of grant, worth up to £25,000 each, to invest in day-to-day equipment to boost productivity, manage slurry or improve animal health and welfare.
In addition, the £5 million Investor Partnerships programme will blend government grant money with private investment to bring cutting-edge technology to market, giving farmers and food producers faster and more widespread access to state-of-the-art innovations, Defra has recently annunced.
Minister for food security and rural affairs Daniel Zeichner said: “Equipment and technology help drive farming forward, and we will work with investors to fund more resilient, sustainable farms boosting profitability, productivity and food security.
“This is the Plan for Change in action, and these grants will help provide our farmers with the equipment necessary to adapt, compete, and grow no matter what challenges lie ahead.”
