Record ‘attendance’ expected at online dealer event

The 2021 Doe Show is predicted to attract more visitors than ever before, as the event adapts to Covid-19 restrictions and moves online. David Williams reports.

The 61st Doe Show will be online this year, but will include all the usual special offers. Extra discount on new Case IH purchases and deferred payment terms for new Bednar machinery will be available for orders placed during the event.

The Doe Show, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, is held annually at the Ulting, Essex headquarters of Europe’s largest agricultural dealer – Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd. Its main New Holland and Case IH franchises are offered through a network of 18 depots under the Ernest Doe and Ernest Doe Power trading names, and serve customers throughout east, and south-east England.

As well as the two main brands, key franchises include SIP, Bednar, Lemken, Dal-Bo, Maschio, Opico, KRM, Teagle, Richard Western, Marshall, Shelbourne Reynolds, Spearhead, Cousins, Knight, Spread-a-Bale, Cherry, Quicke and Lynx. The Doe Show usually includes manufacturer stands from all suppliers, manned throughout the three-day event by product specialists.

Genuine savings

As well as providing an opportunity to view the latest products, the Doe Show is popular for its special offers.

These can include exclusive discounts, extended warranties or attractive payment terms on anything from combine harvesters to workshop tools. Second-hand, ex-demonstration and ex-hire machinery is also heavily discounted for the event.

The show usually attracts 8,000–10,000 visitors, and the decision to move it online this year was made when it became clear that the usual format wouldn’t be possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Experience replicated online

“We know that the Doe Show is popular with our customers, so we have created a web-based event for this year, offering an experience as close as possible to the real thing,” explained sales director Graham Parker. “Customers can ‘visit’ the Doe Show from the safety of their homes, select the brands and products that interest them, then follow links to take them to manufacturer sites where specifications, further information and product videos are available.

Manufacturer product specialists, along with our own sales teams, will be on-hand online and by phone to answer queries and provide expert advice – just as they do here at Ulting.”

Doe Show offers

Exclusive Doe Show offers on new equipment will be available, and customers can view these by registering through the website.

Commemorative Doe Show 2021 mugs will be sent to each customer registering. “At the show, there are additional offers on top of what is usually available, so it’s always an ideal opportunity to invest in new machinery and equipment for the coming year. The online event will offer the same advantages but, just as during the usual three-day show each year, when it’s over the offers are too,” confirmed Graham.
