Cattle farmers invited to participate in clostridial disease survey
13th November 2025
Zoetis UK is calling on cattle farmers to complete a short online survey on clostridial disease in growing beef cattle to help understand their thoughts on the potentially fatal disease and the measures available to help prevent infection, including vaccination.

The survey will also ascertain farmers’ awareness of the National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) Livestock Vaccination Guideline, which categorises vaccination for clostridial disease as a category one vaccination for beef, one of the highest priority vaccinations.
This means that farmers should routinely vaccinate their herds for clostridial disease, and Covexin 10 from Zoetis offers protection against 10 different strains of clostridial bacteria with a good cost versus benefit ratio.
Zoetis vet, Patricia van Veen, said: “Farmers often don’t realise that, besides the well-known risk of blackleg, clostridial disease can cause lethal bloat and scour in beef lots.
“Good stock management and feeding practices, together with vaccination, are considered best practice to help prevent these diseases. Our survey will help us create future strategies on how to raise awareness of the prevention and management of clostridial disease in the farming industry.”
It will take approximately three minutes to complete the survey, and farmers who participate can enter a prize draw, with 10 lucky winners winning a solar power bank as a prize.
