The JJ Metcalfe and Son Ltd’s Universal Tine is engineered to deliver exceptional performance across a broad spectrum of soil types, from sandy loams to heavier clay profiles, the company says.

The JJ Metcalfe and Son Ltd’s Universal Tine is engineered to deliver exceptional performance across a broad spectrum of soil types.
LAMMA 2026 takes place on 14th and 15th January 2026 at the NEC, Birmingham B40 1NT.

Its fine tine geometry and tungsten tip promotes controlled soil flow around the shank, reducing clod formation and preserving soil structure. The design supports uniform seedbed preparation by creating a level, well-aerated surface while limiting vertical and lateral soil displacement.

Its narrow profile minimises draft requirements, allowing efficient operation without excessive fuel consumption. The tungsten tile construction resists wear in abrasive soils, extending service life and maintaining performance throughout the season.

The system is designed to fit onto a wide range of spung tine drills. They include Kverneland TS Evo, Kuhn Megant, Horsch Finer, Kongskilde Vibroseeder and Köckering All Rounder.
