French farmers block roads and spread manure in protest over government policy
16th December 2025
French farmers have been blocking several highways around the country in protests against cattle culling.

Farmers reportedly also sprayed manure on government offices in protest over the government’s policy of systematically culling cattle herds when the nodular dermatitis, known as lumpy skin disease, is detected.
The demonstrations follow reports that last Friday veterinarians slaughtered more than 200 cattle in a French village near the Spanish border after a single case of the disease was identified.
French farmers are also voicing frustration over the trade agreement between the EU and the South American bloc comprising Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, according to international media.
Los agricultores franceses se levantan en todo el país contra Macron y están lanzando estiércol y montando barricadas en las subprefecturas, están hartos de las políticas de Macron y la UE que los arruinan.
