North Wales Police confirmed that the local rural crime team is investigating a report of three Lister sheep shearing machines being stolen from a shed in Nant Gwynant, Caernarfon.

The incident happened between Thursday 12th and Friday 13th February 2026. The theft came as the Welsh team had been preparing for the Golden Shears, the world’s premier shearing and wool-handling competition, which has now begun.

“Officers have visited all farms in the Nant Gwynant area to speak with residents about crime prevention advice and ask them to remain vigilant for suspicious activity in their area.

“Anybody with information that could assist our enquiries should contact police via our website or by calling 101, quoting reference 26000121685,” a spokesperson for the force said.
