British farmers to rally in London tomorrow during second reading of Finance Bill
15th December 2025
British farmers are set to gather in London tomorrow at a “crucial moment”, with changes to inheritance tax moving closer to coming into force.

The second reading of the Finance Bill will take place tomorrow, 16th December. The proposal includes major implications for IHT, APR and BPR.
At the end of the debate, MPs vote on whether the Bill should proceed any further. If it passes, the Bill moves on to the committee stage.
A farmer who will be attending tomorrow’s rally explained: “This is a critical moment before the Bill moves into the committee stage, where the detail is scrutinised and key decisions are shaped.
“That’s why being visible in London on the 16th matters; it sets the tone going into committee stage; it lets MPs know we are still here, still fighting, and not giving up; and it keeps IHT, APR and BPR firmly on the agenda before Christmas recess.”
Farmers are encouraged to attend the rally on foot and bring suitable banners. Protesters will gather in Parliament Square.
The House of Commons will start the second reading of the Finance Bill at 11.30 am on Tuesday 16th December.
“We’ll be there to apply pressure now, while MPs are still forming their positions for committee scrutiny.
“If you can get to London on the 16th, even for a few hours, please do. Pressure up to the committee stage is crucial,” he added.
