Farmers invited to take part in mass rally next month

Farmers have been invited to take part in a ‘Trailer of Truth’ rally across the country, which will conclude in Liverpool outside the Labour Conference next month.

Farmers are invited to take part in a ‘Trailers of Truth’ rally across the country which will conclude in Liverpool, outside the Labour Conference.

Farming campaigning group Farmers To Action is organising a farming protest on 28th September.

A spokesperson for the organiser said: “It’s time to unite. It’s time for all of us to stand shoulder to shoulder with our farmers and take on this Labour government and their empty promises.

“The time is now for the public to join hands with our farmers, stand as one, and push back. Join us as the ‘Trailer of Truth’ roll across the country with Farmers to Action, and meet us in Liverpool on the 28th of September at the Labour Conference.

“As a country, we must unite and stand together to take the fight to this government and show them that farmers and the public are stronger together.”

‘Trailer of Truth’

Farmers To Action and other farming groups confirmed the launch of a bold new campaign called ‘Trailer of Truth’.

It will see farmers from all over the UK taking to the roads throughout September.

The organisers explained that the campaign will shine a light on the inheritance tax reform, rising National Insurance contributions, declining rural living standards and erosion of food and energy security.

The farmers are set to carry the message: ‘Truth over spin, accountability over excuses’.

On September 28th, the ‘Trailer of Truth’ will arrive at Liverpool for a mass rally.

Farmers To Action said: “All welcome, we hope to meet you along the route! Please do come by, have a chat about the campaign and share your own experiences. Write on a banner, post a letter, join a convoy!

“We hope to send a clear message to any government: ‘If you betray your promises, we will hold you to account’.”

The campaigner added that farmers can follow the ‘Trailer of Truth’ at these locations, with more dates to follow:

Truro Livestock Market – 3rd September

Hallworthy – 4th September

Exeter – 5th September

Sedgemoor – 6th September

Blackmoor Gate – 8th September

Frome – 10th September

Thame – 12th September
