Farmers join Christmas tractor run to thank public for support
11th December 2025
Farmers from across six counties took part in a Christmas tractor run in London last night to thank the public for their support over the past year.

Around 20 tractors decorated with lights drove through London on 10th December in a joint effort by farmers from Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire.
One of the organisers, William Finn-Kelcey, explained that the participants wanted to “give something back to the public” as they supported the industry throughout the difficult times.
He said: “Since the IHT announcement last October, there’s been a lot of protests going on around the country and obviously in the capital.
“The public has been so supportive even when we’ve held them up on roads, etc., so we felt that we wanted to give something back to thank the people.”
He added that through the run, farmers also wanted to send a message to the Labour government and the Met Police following the handling of the farmers’ rally on Budget day.
“There were a couple of arrests, and the tractor was seized. We wanted to give a message to the government: ‘You can’t ban us from coming into London; we will come into London as and when we want to’.
“We want the government to know that farmers are still here. We’re not going away, we will continue to fight you over IHT.”
Fundraiser
The run fundraised for the Helping Homeless Veterans UK charity.
Mr Finn-Kelcey added: “Having been into London several times during the farming protests, we’ve noticed an unacceptable level of homelessness on the streets.
“We wanted to try and do something to help, so we set up a fundraiser to accompany the run.
