Oxfordshire based digital content specialist, The Ad Plain (TAP), recently celebrated after taking home the award for Best Rural Digital, Communications or Media Business at the national Rural Business Awards final.
The Wallingford-based firm joined hopefuls from across the country at the event, held at The Monastery in Manchester. The awards, sponsored by Amazon and now in their 5th year, aim to recognise and celebrate the successes of businesses operating in the UK’s rural economy; a sector in which England alone contributes £261bn to the nation’s GVA (Gross Value Added) – nearly a fifth of the country’s total economic activity.
“The Rural Business Awards shines a much-deserved spotlight on the innovators, creators and inventors in rural communities across the UK and it’s great to celebrate their successes at this year’s national final,” said Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon. “The calibre of businesses entering this year’s awards has been higher than ever. I’d like to congratulate all the winners and nominees and wish them continued success for the future.”
TAP, whose clients include ADAMA, Nuseed, Interagro, Garden Trader, DEKALB, Crop Protection Association and the Rural Youth Project, were one of six nominees up for the award, sponsored by O2.
TAP Managing Director, Duncan Murray-Clarke (pictured with Emma Craigie, TAP’s Head of Content and Media) who attended the awards said “We are absolutely thrilled to have been crowned winners in this hotly contested category. Our roots are very firmly in the field and this award is testament to the fantastic team that make up TAP”.
Founded by rural-based business women, Jemma Clifford and Anna Price, the Rural Business Awards are judged by an independent panel, drawn from the rural business sector, rural public sector agencies, and rural charitable organisations.
Anna Price, who co-founded the RBAs, alongside Jemma Clifford, said: “The 2019/20 Rural Business Awards has been our best year yet, and our work to promote the rural sector would not be possible without the support of Amazon and our other sponsors. The calibre of entries this year was exceptional, so we’d like to wish a hearty congratulations to all our winners. We’re inspired by all of our national finalists, but the judges were particularly impressed by The Ad Plain, and we can’t wait to see what they do next.”
