New shear bolt ploughs from Kverneland

A new range of shear bolt ploughs is being launched by Kverneland at LAMMA 2026, complete with an all-new leg and protection system offering greater durability and withstanding higher working pressures.

Range of shear bolt ploughs will be launched by Kverneland at LAMMA 2026, which take place at the NEC in Birmingham on 14th and 15th January.
Kverneland will launch a range of shear bolt ploughs at LAMMA 2026.

All B-series models are fully-mounted and available with Variomat, Kverneland’s hydraulic working width adjustment. The range includes the 2300B from 3–5 furrows, the 3300B from 4–6 furrows, plus the 3400B and 3500B available in 5–7 furrow formats.

While the 2300B and 3300B are in-furrow only for tractors up to 250hp and 330hp respectively, the larger 3400B and 3500B can be used on-land or in-furrow, with tractors up to 380hp.

Point to point clearances can be 85cm or 100cm, while the under-beam clearance is fixed at 80cm, giving the new models high-clearance.

Many of the improvements introduced on the new B-series have already been found on Kverneland’s new generation auto-reset S-series introduced in 2019, and as such, are well-proven. These include the Trailer Transport System (TTS) which enables the plough to be towed like a trailer when in its transport position, plus a wide-section hydraulic rear depth wheel that remains in its working position as the plough is turned over, above it.

But the biggest change is a solid leg design, with a precision engineered shear-bolt better able to withstand an increased break-back force.

Compared to Kverneland’s earlier shear bolt plough models, the solid leg design is sandwiched between two steel plates, which prevents the bolt from stretching or deforming under extreme loads – the result is a clean-cut shear bolt when 5,000kg of force is applied to the plough body.

In addition, the B-series ploughs have been equipped with Kverneland’s 4P skimmer assembly. This affords a central adjustment point for the simultaneous depth setting of both left-hand and right-hand skimmers, and the ability to reposition the skimmers forward/rearward, closer to or further away from the furrow wall, and to angle the skimmer using eccentric bolts.

Additional details include easily identifiable hydraulic pipe handles, conveniently stored spare shear bolts and a laser-cut plate that makes it easier to identify the furrow width setting.
