Based in the South-West, the company delivers nationwide using its own lorry, supplying customers from Cornwall to Scotland. One of the newest additions to the fleet in 2025 was the JCB 542-100 AgriPro Telehandler. Featuring a 50kph dual tech variable transmission gearbox and retaining the capabilities of the popular 542-70 model, the 10-metre telehandler proved itself in the field and became a popular choice among straw contractors with an extra 3m reach.
SW Hire has also expanded its hedgecutter fleet in response to demand increasing mid-season. A particularly seasonal piece of machinery, the 6.5m telescopic hedgecutters, are hired in across the country for winter maintenance across highways and farms. With some farms only requiring a machine for a couple of days and others for the whole season, hiring a hedgecutter allows access to specialised machinery without the upfront cost of a depreciating asset, which sits idle in the yard the remainder of the year.
