Haynes Bros acquires Mike Garwood dealership in Alton and on Isle of Wight

Haynes Bros Ltd has acquired the assets and trade of Mike Garwood Ltd’s Case IH business in Alton, Hampshire, and on the Isle of Wight.

This follows the company’s recent acquisition of the Ernest Doe and Sons Ltd, Case IH business at Woodchurch, near Ashford in Kent.
The latest move to acquire the Case IH business of Mike Garwood Ltd has been fully supported by CNH. The manufacturer confirmed it is currently rolling out a new network strategy to consolidate its network where circumstances allow, to give existing franchise partners more scale.
Haynes Agricultural Ltd, the agricultural subsidiary of Haynes Bros Ltd, currently operates the CNH New Holland franchise from depots in Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and Berkshire and the CNH Case IH franchise in Kent.
The Alton site will continue to operate as a Case IH dealership. With New Holland and JCB farm machinery brands available from the Haynes Bros’ nearby Winchester site. The Isle of Wight depot will represent the Case IH, New Holland and JCB farm machinery brands.
The company confirmed that all staff have been offered continued employment, ensuring that many long-standing customer relationships are maintained, while also giving access to a wider network of expert sales, service and parts support.

‘Continuing the legacy’
Bob Garwood, son of the late Mike Garwood, who sadly recently passed away and who had devoted most of his life to the business, said: “My father was keen to see the continuity of the business he had successfully built up over many years. I am therefore glad we have found another well-respected and long-established family business to continue his legacy and start a new chapter in the business’s development.

Haynes Bros Ltd was founded in 1790 and is a sixth-generation family business. It operates in the automotive and agricultural machinery sectors from 12 locations across the South East.
