Body of Yorkshire farmer recovered following disappearance  

Police recently confirmed that the body of a missing 67-year-old farmer from North Yorkshire has been found.

North Yorkshire Police recently confirmed that the body of a missing Nicholas Leaf from Riccall, near Selby, has been found.

Nicholas Leaf from Riccall, near Selby, was last seen by his family on 9th April.

After days of searching, his body was discovered on 18th April in water near to his home address.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said his death is not being treated as suspicious.

They added: “We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals, and we ask that Nicholas’ family’s privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

Support over recent days  

Mr Leaf’s nephew, Jack Leaf, thanked the public who took part in the searches.  

In a post on social media, he said: “I’m very sorry to share the news that Nick has been found and is no longer with us.  

“Thank you again for all your support over the last nine days. If you could please respect the family’s privacy, we’d be grateful. Thank you.”
