Farmers from East Anglia took part in another protest back in February.

East Anglian Farmers Unite confirmed that farmers will meet at Valley Farm, in Wherstead, IP9 2AX, from 8am on Monday 24th November.

The organisers said: “In support of the national Day of Unity, we are participating with an agricultural machinery road run.

“We will be departing Valley Farm at 10am, but please ensure a prompt arrival, as it is vital for a timely departure. We will have speeches at 9:30 and leave at 10am.”

East Anglian Farmers Unite asked interested farmers to contact group members so they can provide Suffolk Police with an accurate number of tractors taking part and help ensure the event is managed safely.

The route of the run is set to be announced on the morning of the gathering.

Farmers will take part in the run to express their dissatisfaction with Labour’s changes to the farm family tax, as well as to highlight other issues that are putting pressure on the agricultural community.

Gathering in London on Budget day

The nationwide movement emerged from a collaboration of ideas among several UK farming groups.

Day of Unity will see numerous go-slow protests on A-roads around the UK. Tractors are also set to be parked on overhead A-road bridges, with warning lights on.

Farmers from across the country are also set to gather in London on the Budget day, 26th November.

The protest will start at 9.30am at Whitehall, London, on Wednesday 26th November.

The organisers of the rally said: “This Budget day, farmers from across the UK are driving to London to demand fairness and a future for British farming. The current IHT system threatens family farms and rural livelihoods; it’s time for change.

“From 9:30am, farmers, families, and supporters will gather on Whitehall to send a clear message to those in power: rural Britain won’t be ignored.

“They’ll be guest speakers, passionate voices from across the countryside, and we will be channelling our inner French.”

The organisers of the event said that it is set to be a peaceful, farmer-led protest “by the people, for the people who feed the nation”.

“Bring your tractor and stand to make a difference,” they concluded. The protest is free to attend; everybody is welcome.
