Jeremy Clarkson has given glowing reviews to a range of new English wines on offer at his pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

Clarkson has revealed a range of new wines on offer at The Farmer’s Dog and says English wine is “just better” than French.
In a video on Instagram, Clarkson show five bottles of wine lined up on the bar at his pub, all of which are English brands, including Heretics, Balfour and Sugrue South Downs.
The Farmer’s Dog is known for stocking exclusively British produce – and will not sell Coca Cola and coffee as it can’t be sourced from the UK.
“We’ve got a new selection of wines at The Farmer’s Dog all British, every single one of them British, and I’m not making this up, they’re fantastic,” Clarkson said.
Tasting a glass of Heretics pale rosé Clarkson says: “This is my favourite […]. I’m sorry, Brad Pitt and all the other people in France making rosé, this is better. It’s just better.”
After taking a swig he adds: “That could make me very drunk.”
Heretics pale rosé is a barrel fermented pinot noir from Missing Gate Vineyard, and bottled in Heretics’ signature black bottles, which is says prevents light damage.
Other wines already on offer at the pub include Lisa’s Le Pop Fizz, Château Dorking and Château Tenterden from Chapel Down, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir Rosé from Crouch Valley, and Château Newent by Three Choirs. Red wines include Oxford Regatta, made by Brightwell Vineyards and Redmoors Pinot Noir from Davenport Vineyards.
Clarkson purchased The Farmer’s Dog, which is close to his Oxfordshire farm, for less than £1 million. It opened on 23rd August last year.
