Farmers urged to accept FETF 2025 grants before deadline passes

Farm machinery manufacturer Claydon has reminded farmers and contractors that those whose applications for a Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2025 grant were approved must accept offers by 11th November 2025 or risk losing them.

David Furber, Claydon’s UK & Ireland sales manager, explained that given the value of FETF grants and their substantial contribution towards the cost of new qualifying machinery, it is essential that customers place their order before the offer of funding expires.

“It is also important to note that the claims window deadline is midday on 31st March 2026. By then you must have bought the items and have them on site without packaging or installed (if the specification states) and emailed a completed single claim form containing all the items and all the supporting evidence that you have bought your items to the RPA,” he added.

Claydon machinery, which qualifies for a Farming Equipment and Technology Fund grant, includes the company’s Evolution mounted direct drills from 3m to 6m wide and its Hybrid trailed direct drills from 3m to 8m wide.

Claydon’s recently introduced NutriSeeder and straw harrows are eligible for FETF grant funding.

Under FETF44 – Direct Drill, these models qualify for a grant of up to 50% of the on-farm price, with a maximum value of £15,067. Claydon’s twin-hopper NutriSeeder is also eligible (FETF207 – Air drill for establishing cover crops) for a grant which covers 50% of the on-farm price, up to a maximum of £1,575, while the company’s Straw Harrows, from 3m to 15m wide, are eligible for a 40% grant, up to a maximum of £6,720 under FETF208 – Tractor Mounted Stubble Rake.

The company’s team said that with over twenty years’ experience of direct drilling technology, Claydon is the European market leader with its Opti-Till system.

This holistic approach eliminates unnecessary cultivations, allowing consistent, high-yielding crops to be established at approximately one-third the cost of a plough-based approach and half that of min-till, providing maximum profitability whilst improving soil health.

The availability of FETF grants further increases its attractiveness, so Claydon advises those considering updating their machinery to do so without delay.
