A former farmer, Pip Langdown, and a small team of volunteers have taken on a challenge to open a mental and physical wellbeing farm for people in need. They are now looking for supporters to get the not-for-profit venture off the ground.

RSABI has just announced its collaboration with the University of Glasgow on the research project aimed at understanding and preventing suicide within Scotland’s farming and crofting communities.

Rural mental health champion and BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson hosted a Mental Health Awareness Workshop, which brought together mental health advocates and agricultural professionals to highlight the importance of mental well-being within the farming community.

A decade after RSABI first launched its Supporters’ Scheme, the charity is announcing exciting plans which will see the scheme rebranded as ‘Friends of RSABI’.

There is no doubt that 2024 was a challenging year for farming in the UK and, given the added stress farmers are currently experiencing, ensuring farmers and farm workers prioritise both their physical and mental wellbeing has never been more important, said the Farm Safety Foundation team while launching its annual Mind Your Head campaign. 

Silostop Agri has announced its partnership with The Farming Community Network (FCN), which aims to open up direct lines of communication between farmers who are heading towards or experiencing difficulties.

Farming Community Network and Dewing Grain have invited farmers to attend a free FarmWell event, which will take place later this month.
