Livestock farmers producing slurry are being encouraged to consider future plans when applying for the slurry infrastructure grant scheme that closes to applicants on 31 January.

A total budget of £238m will be available for direct payments to farmers in Wales in 2023, the same level provided over the past three years, the minister for rural affairs Lesley Griffiths confirmed today.

A new £4.8M project funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to increase biomass crops grown in the UK, will launch at the Low Carbon Agriculture Show at the NAEC, Stoneleigh, on 7th February 2023.
