Machinery company celebrates new man at the helm

Yorkshire-based machinery manufacturer Sumo appoints new general manager

Michael Harrod comes to Sumo as the new general manager. With over 15 years’ experience in manufacturing, Michael is well equipped to lead Sumo into its next exciting chapter. Having worked within the agricultural sector and Sumo previously, Michael understands the culture of the business and has a clear vision for the future.

After 26 years at the helm of the company, founder Shaun Wealleans has stepped down from his role.

Directors of the company James Sweeting and Simon Herring are both excited for the new appointment.

“Mike has a strong reputation and takes an innovative approach to moving businesses forward, he is already familiar with the team here at Sumo and has clear ideas on where he wants to take the business”. “We welcome his new ideas and look forward to taking Sumo to the next level in agricultural manufacturing” said Simon.

The team remain as committed as ever to upholding the reputation the business has gained, and general manager Mike is eager to implement his plans for the business, “Sumo has huge potential as a business, and I am looking forward to working with the whole team to reach our goals, both internally and externally”.
