AHDB expected to save half a million in move to new premises

AHDB is looking to save around £500,000 from its annual budget moving to new headquarters near Coventry better suited to its current sector teams and support staff.

Located only six miles from the current premises, the organisation’s new base on the Middlemarch Business Park near Coventry airport will be less than half the size at 16,000 sq ft as opposed to 33,000 sq ft.

The move will be completed by the end of April 2023, with an international technology company taking over the present headquarters at Stoneleigh Park.

CEO Tim Rycroft said: “This move to a new, fit for purpose headquarters demonstrates our commitment to reducing central costs and building a leaner AHDB.

“The money we have saved will be reinvested in our core activities, directly benefiting levy payers.”

Mr Rycroft emphasized the new location “International House” will fit the organisation’s current requirements, enabling AHDB to offer better value to levy payers.

“It gives us a suitable venue for hosting levy payer meetings, as well as other stakeholder and industry events and we are also pleased to have found a location that is close to our current base,” he added.

AHDB staff will begin their move to the new premises in early April and the new headquarters are due to be fully occupied by the end of that month.
