Farm Stories: Anna’s Happy Trotters

As part of their campaign to Back British Farming, A-Plan Rural Insurance is sitting down with farmers to chat about all things farming. In their latest blog, they spoke with Anna Longthorn (@annas_happy_trotters), who is an English farmer. Anna discusses the farm she works on, how she came to be a pig farmer, the farming tradition in her family and the opportunities she sees for others wanting to enter farming.

A-Plan Rural Insurance continue to showcase the work of our British farmers and those working in agriculture in an effort to help more people understand the reality of what goes into producing their food.

Through their Rural Community blog, A-Plan Rural Insurance hope to show the public why during British is so important. The team regularly sit down with farmers from across the UK to listen to their experiences in the industry, sharing their contributions to over 115,000 followers on Instagram.

In their latest blog, they spoke with Anna Longthorn (@annas_happy_trotters), an English arable and pig farmer. Anna built her own business 14 years ago, buying weaned pigs from the family farm, growing them and selling them under her brand ‘Anna’s Happy Trotters’. Anna shared more of her story and journey in farming and the challenges she had to overcome, as well as the tips and tricks she’s picked up along the way.
