Viewers will be transported back to the brighter months as the documentary will showcase Sweeny’s croft in Ness during the summer of 2023. There are also more calves expected than ever before, with unforeseen problems lie ahead.

During an eventful season with prices constantly on the rise, Sweeny attempts to revive old traditions to minimise costs, before visiting a research farm outside of Edinburgh to curb his croft’s carbon footprint by finding out more about methane emissions from cows.

Work never stops

The documentary, produced by MacTV, follows on from the two-part An Lot – Spring special, which aired in May last year. However, while every season poses its own challenges, the daily work on the croft never stops.

From terrible setbacks to euphoric moments, Sweeny’s never-ending passion promises to captivate audiences. The episode will air on 8th January 2024 at 9.30pm and on demand on BBC iPlayer.
