Manufacturer shares 2020 updates

In a year that’s been dominated by Covid-19, machinery brand Case IH has been busy bringing new products to the UK for 2020/21.

This year saw the first Magnum AFS Connect machines arrive in the UK, marking the seventh generation of this machine and the beginning of technology transfer from the Magnum-derived Autonomous Concept Vehicle, which was built by Case IH some years ago. All models feature an extensively revised cab and Case IH AFS Connect telematics, the company says.

AFS Connect enables secure two-way data transfer between the machine and the farm manager to allow them to manage their field operation, fleet information, agronomic data and more with precision – all in real time – from their office or mobile device.

Furthermore, AFS Connect technology will now be rolled out onto new Quadtrac and Steiger series tractors for the 2021 season, with specific features for the European market including similar cab comfort and control upgrades to those introduced initially on the Magnum AFS Connect.

The Case IH range of Puma tractors (140–240hp) underwent a makeover in 2020; the first shortwheelbase models were rolled out inthe UK in summer 2020, with engines now protected by a distinctive new hood with the latest Case IH family styling. Early 2021 will see the first of the Puma 185–240hp long-wheelbase models revealed, featuring extensively updated cabs with additional features for improved operator comfort, the company claims. All Pumas are now powered by 6.7-litre FPT industrial six-cylinder engines that meet Stage 5 emissions regulations, with Hi-eSCR technology.

The new Vestrum from Case IH has proved to a be a popular choice in 2020, bringing continual variable transmission technology to a smaller tractor. The new model is a compact, highly versatile 100–130hp CVT tractor that fits into the Case IH range between the 100–120hp Luxxum models and 115–145hp Maxxum tractors. All Vestrum CVXDrive tractors feature a luxurious, four-pillar cab with suspension and a control layout similar to that used on larger Case IH tractor models, complete with the well-established Case IH Multicontroller armrest.
