Cheffins joins forces with Tractor Fest in June

Europe’s leading agricultural and machinery auctioneer Cheffins has been confirmed as headline sponsor of the UK’s largest outdoor vintage tractor festival.

Europe’s leading agricultural and machinery auctioneer Cheffins has been confirmed as headline sponsor of the UK’s largest outdoor vintage tractor festival Tractor Fest being staged at Newby Hall in June.

Families and enthusiasts from across the country gather at Newby Hall, Yorkshire each summer for the two-day festival, which this year is being held over the weekend of 8th and 9th June.

Organised by the Yorkshire Vintage Association, the festival attracts more than 12,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibits – vintage tractors and engines, as well as commercial vehicles, cars and motorcycles from around the UK and Europe.

This year’s show commemorates the outbreak of World War II with a 1940s theme. There will be displays of vintage tractors from the era, including the Fordson N tractor – ‘the tractor that won the war’ – and period lighting sets.

The ubiquitous Fordson N played a vital role in combatting food shortages and was widely used by the Women’s Land Army, as well as the RAF for pulling aircraft.

Yorkshire Vintage Association chairman Kevin Watson, said: “We’re pleased to have Cheffins’ support again this year. Their sponsorship, along with our other supporters, enables us to improve the show year on year, making it a fun day out for enthusiasts and families alike.”

Comments Cheffins chairman Bill King: “Cheffins has strong links to Yorkshire through our annual Harrogate Vintage auction which takes place each summer and we are delighted to sponsor this agricultural celebration for the fifth year in a row. The event provides an excellent opportunity to catch up with friends, colleagues and clients and our team is looking forward to coming back to the county to offer Tractor Fest our support in June.”

The first day of Tractor Fest culminates in a spectacular March of the Tractors – a parade of more than 100 tractors from Newby Hall to Ripon’s historic market square. The Ripon Hornblower will mark their departure back to Newby by sounding her world-famous horn.

Tractor Fest is the perfect family day out with fun activities throughout the weekend including opportunities to drive mini tractors, face painting, colouring, interactive exhibits, working machinery, trade stands, crafts and street food all available.

Admission to Tractor Fest is £14.00 adults and seniors, £11.00 children, under 4’s go free – includes entry to the garden and adventure garden.
